2014 ATTACKS ON GAZA
The 2014 Gaza attacks lasted 50 days from July to August 2014. It began after escalating tensions and rocket fire from Gaza, followed by a large-scale Israeli military campaign involving airstrikes and a ground invasion. More than 2,200 Palestinians were killed, the majority civilians, and tens of thousands of homes were destroyed, causing massive displacement; on the Israeli side, 73 people were killed, including soldiers and civilians. A ceasefire was reached on August 26, but the war left Gaza with severe humanitarian damage and long-term reconstruction challenges.
